TLC Team

I see my role in teaching and learning as a bridge-builder: I aim to build communities and connections within and between ECU instructors and other areas of the school that can support our teaching. I love learning about learning and facilitating conversations about how learning happens in (and outside of) our course. I am also passionate about peer-to-peer learning, for both students and instructors, because I believe we all have so much to offer one another.

As an educational developer, I support teaching and curriculum or program development and review. I work one-on-one or with small or larger units within the institution in this supportive role. My area of passion and focus is addressing topics of equity and justice in creative industries education, and I have an active research practice in this field. I come to this work with a love for collaboration, and with many years of creative industries experience as both an educator and practitioner. My pronouns are she/her.

I¡¯m interested in making sure our learning technologies work to the benefit of our students and faculty and can enhance the learning experience rather than being viewed as obstacles to overcome. In my day to day I support faculty and staff, and facilitate workshops and training. I also assess and test new technologies for adoption, and together with IT take part in the Moodle, WordPress, and Kaltura support and administration team.

I am an Instructional Designer at the Teaching and Learning Centre. I work with instructors on online course design, asynchronous and synchronous learning, online teaching, and Moodle. I deliver workshops on various online teaching tools and strategies and am always eager to hear about different teaching experiences and innovations from the ECU community. I received my BFA in Media Arts & Digital Technologies from The Alberta College of Art & Design (now Alberta University for the Arts) in 2004. After many years working with non-profit arts organizations such as the Epcor Centre for the Performing Arts and the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, I joined the Emily Carr community in 2018 as Program Assistant with the Writing Centre. I appreciate the opportunity to support the Teaching and Learning team in their work and to help the TLC grow.
